Dolores R. Truono, 88, of Greenville, DE passed away on March 1, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Dolores (Dee) was born in Wilmington on December 1, 1928 to the late Alfaretta (McArdle) and Daniel Russo. A graduate of Wilmington High, 1945, Dee was employed as a Legal Secretary for Thomas J. Healy Co. and married her love, Eugene J. (Gene) Truono, DDS, on June 10, 1950. They were married 52 years, until his passing on July 6, 2002. Dee was not only instrumental in helping her husband grow his dental practice and achieve his goal of becoming President of the American Dental Association but also was very active in her own right as holding various positions in the Auxiliary to the Delaware State Dental Society including serving as its President. She was active with the Jr. Board of St. Francis Hospital, becoming Chairman of the Gift Shop as well as President, of which she was very proud. During all of this time, Dee was first and foremost the mother of 7 children. She was involved with all of their activities as well as finding time to knit unique sweaters and create beautiful needlepoint pillows for all. Dee was predeceased by her parents and sister, Betty McAteer (Robert). She is survived by her 7 children and spouses, Patricia G. (Randall Ochonicki), Stephen D. (Leslie Dickson), Christine A. (John A. Joyce, III), Eugene J. Jr., (Luis Henriquez), Mark A. (Terri Sisson), Daniel D. (Teresa Kline), Martina M. (Michael Cawley), 14 grandchildren, Adam and Marissa Ochonicki, Brian, Greg, Gina(Olsen) and Anne Truono, Jay and Connor Joyce, Bella and Nicholas Truono, Sophia and Daniel, Jr. Truono and Grace and Aiden Cawley as well as her Grand Dog, Gunther, and 5 Great Grand Children, Sage, Lyra, Caden, Ben and Teagan. Also, Dee is survived by many nieces and nephews in the Truono and McAteer families including her special nephew, Dennis. Over the years Dee made friends where ever she went locally and nationally with her husband as well as in her final years at Weston Senior Living (Masonic Home) and will be missed by so many. We would like to thank her caregivers at Weston for their thoughtful and compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 5-8 pm at St. Joseph On The Brandywine Church with Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph On The Brandywine Church. Interment will follow Mass in the adjoining cemetery.
