Marlene Carucci

Marlene Carucci, 76, of Wilmington Delaware, a loving daughter, cousin, and godmother, passed away peacefully on August 8. 2017.  She was the daughter of the late Mary (Colicchio) and Americo Carucci.

A faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where she was a lifetime member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and also served for 20 years as Treasurer of the St. Anthony’s Italian Festival.

Marlene graduated from Padua Academy in their first graduating class in 1958.  The very next day she began her first and only job as an executive secretary at the University of Delaware where she worked in the Geology Department for 40 years. 

“Mimi” will be greatly missed by Beau and Lola Minner, and fondly remembered by Doreen and Bruce Minner and cousin Linda DeAngelis. 

She so enjoyed the fun and jovial times spent with her girlfriends, her cousins and her many godchildren.  She will be missed by all and those memories cherished.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 12:00, where family and friends may call after 10:00.  Burial will follow Mass at Cathedral Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Anthony of Padua church or Padua Academy.
